Amsterdam Dance Event

Next week Amsterdam! 🇳🇱

I’ll be representing CISAC at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), joining Andrew Melchior, Oliver Kruse, Susannah Montgomery and Jay Ahern for the panel ‘Who Writes the Rules? AI, Music Rights, and Building in Europe’.

As Director of Creator Relations at CISAC, much of my work involves ensuring creators have a voice in the international conversations shaping their future, particularly around AI, copyright and cultural policy.

But I also come at these discussions from a slightly unusual perspective. Alongside my policy work, I’m a professional songwriter and recording artist, as well as an academic. It means I get to see these issues from several sides: the policy being developed, the research informing it, and the realities of actually making a living from music (which is tougher than ever…!).

Sometimes having several professional identities really does come in handy!

Looking forward to what promises to be a fascinating discussion about who gets to shape the rules, and what they mean for the future of music in Europe.
